Lent is a 40-day season of reflection and growth. More than any other time in our church year, we are asked to honestly evaluate our walk with the Lord through prayer, reflection and study of the Word. We are asked to honestly name and claim our sin, repent of it, be released from it (forgiveness), and move forward to walk in a new way of faithfulness with our Lord. We will “give up” the things in our lives that keep us from being where we should be with God so that when Easter comes, we will be resurrected with Jesus to a new way of living.
